swbf2 PC

hey guys, just wondering what your opinion is on this:
should i get swbf2 for pc? 
my disk stopped working once gamespy quit/switched/did-something and im not sure how to fix it, so im thinking of buying it on steam or something
should i buy it? or is there some alternative method for getting my disk to work that idk about?
or, should i just not try? i have no idea who still plays bf2 PC if anyone

Remove swbf2 from your computer with all components, reinstall and replace the launch file with the one from gamemaster

I don't think it's necessary to reinstall it, but try it if all else fails =D
